Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are having a great start to your week so far.

Since purchasing our new IKEA sofa (which we are still lounging on every chance we get), the rules of where the guinea pigs can hang out have changed. As much as we love them, we’re simply not ready to make the new sofa a pit of piggy fur and accident stains. Thus, we’ve decided to start giving the pigs more floor time.

Although all guinea pig owners do floor time a little differently, it’s highly recommended to do so at least a couple of times per week so your pigs can get out of their cages, stretch their tiny little legs and explore a new environment.

We have purchased a couple of inexpensive fleece blankets that they use for floor time. Not only do they love burrowing in the folds of the blanket, but it also keeps them pretty contained. (And bonus – when accidents do happen, the damage is not as bad.)

Their blanket below is probably my favorite of theirs. And yes. It is from IKEA.

Disclaimer: I promise I don’t secretly work for them in any way, shape or form.

You might be concerned with the green coming out of Bella’s mouth like a little rabid pig; don’t be. She just finished her breakfast a few minutes before floor time (mmm, yummy leaf lettuce!), and we didn’t have a chance to clean her mouth yet. But yes — the “green mouth effect” is common with guinea pigs after eating! She doesn’t seem to mind.

Now, for the piggy roll…
